This work started by exploring the hidden vitality of a fallen tree in the rainforest of Mocoa through long-exposure photography at night, where Ganoderma mushrooms and surrounding plants formed part of a living network. The work shows a transformed trunk that had formerly been used as a beehive by communities in the Peruvian rainforest. A Peruvian entrepreneur dedicated to protecting bees and supporting local communities now provides them with new insights into beehive construction technologies that better safeguard the animals. Against the backdrop of this interplay between science and ancestral knowledge, our object takes on aspects of mutual symbiosis among flora, fauna, and human knowledge systems. On acrylic lenses, the trunk displays illuminated phrases drawn from Kamëntsá philosophy and scientific literature.

Phrases: «We are making up our own reality. – Juafsnán almå cham Jebionanán Bonshán catatoy Fshants (Open the soul's eyes for the mutual love of earth). – Symbiotic relationships are formed in times of crises. – Mor ntsec inye jtsajabótan jajen jenan uabongonjuanan catatoy (Now is the time when me most need to sow reciprocal harmony).»
